1. Responsibility for Insurance Cover​

• Insurance cover against theft, damage, accidents, loss, or any other incident involving the trailer is the sole responsibility of the Hirer. This responsibility applies from the moment the trailer is assigned to the Hirer and continues until it is formally checked and signed back in by an authorised member of our staff. 

• The Hirer is liable for any costs arising from incidents that occur during this period, regardless of fault.

2. Security Deposit

• ​£150 pre-authorised refundable deposit for hire.

• Fully refundable - unless there is any damage. The Hirer agrees that the cost of any damage will be deducted from the £150 deposit. All our trailers are supplied with a spare wheel; should the Hirer encounter a puncture or tyre damage, it is their responsibility to ensure the spare tyre is correctly and safely fitted (either by themselves or via an independent breakdown organisation). The remainder of the deposit will be returned to the Hirer via bank transfer and will be released once trailer hire is complete. This can take up to 10 working days. 

• The Hirer agrees that any damage costs / loss of straps, etc exceeding the pre-authorised deposit will be due from them once estimated repair costs have been generated. An invoice for the excess will be emailed and needs to be settled within fourteen days. Additional costs may be incurred for late settlement. 

• The Hirer agrees to immediately inform YTS of any damage to the trailer so that replacement parts can be sourced and ordered. 

• Hitch locks and wheel clamps are provided by YTS on all trailers; if the trailer is parked up overnight by the Hirer, these MUST be applied. The Hirer agrees that it is their responsibility to cover the whole value of their trailer if theft occurs whilst in their possession.

3. Duration

• ​The minimum duration of the trailer hire is twenty-four hours. Anything less than this will still be charged at the twenty-four-hour hire rate.

• The trailer hire will start and finish on the dates/times specified in the confirmation letter from YTS.

• Should the trailer not be returned within the agreed period, the Hirer will be charged for any additional time at the standard twenty-four-hour rate.

• Should the Hirer require the trailer for longer than the original booking, this MUST be agreed by YTS prior to this occurring (as it may already be booked by another Hirer that day).

4. Return of the Trailer

• The Hirer agrees to collect and return the trailer from YTS premises on the agreed times/dates.​

• Please ensure the Hirer returns the trailer on time and in accordance with the Terms and Conditions outlined in Sections 2 and 3 above. It is important that the trailer is returned on time so that it can be prepared for release to other subsequent customers.

• The trailer must be returned to YTS clean, swept, and hosed (where necessary). There will be a penalty of £25 if the trailer is returned in an unclean state. The Hirer hereby authorises YTS to charge such a penalty. 

• Please note that no refund/discount is offered to the Hirer by YTS for the early return of the trailer.

5. Cancellation

• ​All cancellations must be notified to YTS via email or phone call immediately as this will help improve our chances of rehiring the trailer.

6. Data Protection

• ​YTS will only use the information you provide about yourself for the purpose of fulfilling your hire contract. 

• YTS will take all reasonable steps to ensure we comply with our obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 so that the details of your order and payments are kept secure. All electronic details will be deleted from YTS's system once the specific booking has been fully completed (i.e. any additional costs, etc have been recovered from the Hirer).

On the day of your rental please ensure you call us at least 30 minutes before collection. This will enable us to ensure your trailer is ready for your arrival.

On the day of your return with the trailer, we also require you to call at least 30 minutes before dropping off to ensure someone is available to meet you.

Lastly, for our peace of mind and the Hirers, please be aware that all trailers are fitted with a live GPS tracker.
